Wow, does time fly!

New Prints in Old Calico is doing very well these days. There is an electronic version (Kindle/Kobo/Apple, etc) and an audio book , and now there is a paperback version! It's all very exciting.

I haven't been to a reader event in such a long time, so I was really excited about going to When Words Collide event in Calgary AB in August.  I was at the publisher's table in the vending room on the Saturday, and was happily signing copies of New Prints in Old Calico. Doing it all over again September 20, at the Word on the Street festival in Lethbridge, AB. Again, come on by and I'll sign copies for you!

I'm working on a couple of new projects that have got my attention right now. First, I'm back to investigating shadows and ghosts with Carlie Barnes, my intrepid paranormal investigator in another rom com adventure! I've also been sweet talked into writing an as of yet unnamed sequel to New Prints in Old Calico. This time it will be Chet Bowman's story, with his new love interest, Lil the saloon barkeep that befriended Amy. Chet is the rancher whose brother was hung for a crime he didn't commit by then marshal Austen Riley, so he's a little broken and needing to find both revenge and solace. I'm in the plotting and scheming stages right now, figuring out how I can torture this poor man a little more before allowing his aching heart to heal.

I'll post updates on both those projects as time goes forward. One of my author friends is daring me to get at least one of them done by year end! Yikes!

Eh, November is coming. Maybe I'll give Nanowrimo a whirl this year.

Coming Soon- New Prints In Old Calico

I am excited to share the newest news (ummm, that's redundant, right?). New Prints In Old Calico is a reprint of book I had at Wings Press years and years ago. I still love this story, so I spiffed it up, had it re-edited and then Trisha FitzGerald made me the bestest cover for it. It comes out May 5, and I know you'll love it. It's a slightly different type of book from what I've been writing lately, time travel versus romantic comedy, but there are enough light moments in it that you'll like it. My editor says I have a flare for western romances, so I'm waiting to see what y'all think too. Maybe I need to write more of these. 

Writing

I am pleased to report that I have completed the first chapter (and 1600 words) of my current work in progress. So yep, I'm writing. Well, not right now. Right now I'm blogging. Which is a form of writing, so hey, guess what? I'm writing!

And 'cause I've got some actually started, I can share a little bit about my story. Paranormal PI.

Carlie Barnes works hard at paranormal debunking. She’s learned that most of the ‘ghosts’ she’s encountered can be explained away by the real world. But sometimes there are spirits out there and it’s the living that cause the most trouble. Like the guy in the condo upstairs, who’d rather walk on glass than admit she might be right. She’d like to cross him off her list as just another uptight yuppie, but she can’t. He’s hired her to investigate an old federal bunker. Try as she might, she simply can’t ignore his sexy blue eyes that threaten to send her libido into a tailspin and her panties into a bunch.

Michael Denton is a scientist. He believes in what he can see, touch, and feel. And he doesn’t want to feel Carlie Barnes. As far as he’s concerned, she’s a con artist who preys on people's fears and bilks them out of their hard earned money to satisfy those fears. So why does she makes his pulse race and his palms sweat by just being in the same room?

But science dictates that opposites attract, and when they do, fighting the inevitable is just as difficult as believing in ghosts and hotter than a beaker above a Bunsen burner.

Whatcha think? Am I on to something? Or just satisfying my inner geek? 

My name is Jennifer Lynn and I write romantic comedy. Nope, this isn't an intro to a 12 step program. It isn't even a confession. More like... a compulsion that overtakes me now and again, and then I drag all my readers into it with me. 

It's been a little while since I've had a new release, but I'm working on something that will be really great once it's done. I'm really excited and can't wait to share some excerpts with you, but it's a little too soon right now.
